Driven by a culture of safety and excellence, Energy Support Services is committed to providing Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Asset Management, and Commissioning Services to the C&I and small utility-scale solar energy industry. Energy Support Services was founded in 2014 initially to provide services on its affiliate’s projects but quickly matured into the 3rd party space as well once our high level of service standards became known to the general industry. Now, after years of managing our affiliate's systems, we continue to extend our services throughout the US, including managing the portfolios of two of the nation’s top utilities. We currently oversee a portfolio of 170MW that includes ground mounts, rooftops, canopies, and community solar across 15 states. ESS is seeking a President to provide visionary leadership and rapid growth in a growing industry with extensive opportunities. This position will report to the Board of Directors. Candidates do not need to be located in Annapolis, MD, but must be able to be in Annapolis, MD once/twice a month.


  • Provide general oversight of all Company activities, manage the day-to-day operations, and assure a smoothly functioning, efficient organization.
  • Assure program quality and organizational stability thorough development and implementation of standard and controls, systems and procedure, and regular evaluation.
  • Lead business development efforts to increase Company revenues and profits.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets.
  • Communicate, on behalf of the Company, with shareholders and board of director members, government entities, and the public.
  • Represent the Company as required, including attendance of important functions, industry events and public meetings.
  • Lead the development of the Company’s short and long term strategy.
  • Create and implement the Company’s vision and mission.
  • Other duties related to the Company as assigned by the Board of Directors.




  • 4 yr degree from and accredited university, Business or Engineering majors preferred.
  • 5-10 yr experience in solar/energy industry.
  • 5-7+ yr experience running a company or division of a company, $2MM+ revenue.
  • Strong business development background.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action through their influence.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to adapt quickly to changes in the marketplace.
  • Innovative, with a vision of the future of the company that they can plan, strategize and execute.
  • Financial and operational knowledge, as well as knowledge of regulations, policy and procedures that affect the company.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with board members, partners and frontline employees.
  • Ability to attract, develop and retain top talent.
